Power Supplies (C/MRI & Signals)

We need good power for the signals and C/MRI system. The signals need 12 Volts DC and the C/MRI system uses 5 Volts DC.   For C/MRI, I originally had tried using a high quality (for the time) 5 Volt supply which had been installed in the electrical room for a long time.  We had one working one and a backup unit which was non-functional.   For whatever reason the working unit burnt up.  I replaced the transistors in it only to have it fail a second time.  At that point I decided to scrap the old supply and install a new more efficient switch-mode supply.  The new supply is drastically smaller in size and I was able to install a new 12 volt supply in the same enclosure.  I gutted an old telephone power supply which made a nice rack-mount enclosure for the two new supplies.
